I provide Freelance Illustration specializing in realistic yet stylized work, with lots of textures, color, line work. I love to do people, animals, structures, landscapes. I have 40 years of experience in the business, and have worked full time at Hallmark Cards and American Greetings, developing many looks and styles. Music is a passion and I relish doing CD packaging, tour posters, etc. I've also recently finished a few children's books for national authors, both in black and white and color. I've had work published in the Wall Street Journal, Dallas Magazine, The American Bar Association, etc. Drawing excites me and my attention to detail is a strength that sets me apart from some typical representations, especially portraiture and specific advertising jobs. I've been asked to do a lot of dog portraiture, especially in cases of an aging or recently departed animal, where the client is asking for an emotional tie in to their love for the pet. In portraiture, whether animal or person, an emotional sense is key and often it's the eyes that make it special. Currently I work primarily in Photoshop, yet try to make the art appear as if done traditionally. For conventional work I prefer pen and ink with watercolor washes.
